Yucca Rostrata (Beaked Yucca) Medium

This medium-sized Yucca rostrata provides the same striking, architectural beauty as the larger specimen but in a size that is more manageable for patio pots, courtyard corners, or as part of a tiered landscape display. It features the signature globe of slender, blue-silver leaves and a sturdy trunk that is beginning to develop its rugged, fibrous character. Sunlight

Full Sun. This is an absolute requirement. It must have as much direct, intense, unfiltered sunlight as possible to maintain its characteristic compact, spherical head and vibrant, blue-toned foliage.

Watering

Very Low. It is exceptionally drought-tolerant. In the UK, the greatest threat is winter wetness. During the summer, water only during prolonged dry spells; in the autumn and winter, it must be kept as dry as possible to prevent crown rot.

Soil & Drainage

Non-negotiable drainage. It requires a very gritty, free-draining substrate. If planting in a container, use a mix consisting of at least 50% horticultural grit or pumice. In the ground, ensure it is planted in a raised bed or a site with very sandy/stony, fast-draining soil.
