Sunlight

Full Shade to Partial Shade. This is a forest-floor plant at heart. It requires a cool, shaded environment protected from strong, drying winds and harsh, direct sunlight, which can scorch its delicate fronds.

Watering

High. Tree ferns are thirsty plants. During the growing season, keep the soil consistently moist. Crucially, water directly into the top of the "crown" (where the fronds emerge) and down the trunk itself, as the fibrous trunk absorbs moisture to support the canopy.
