Pygmy Date Palms (Phoenix roebelenii)

The Phoenix roebelenii is an exquisite, compact palm that brings a soft, graceful tropical aesthetic to any space. Sunlight

Full Sun to Partial Shade. It thrives in bright, filtered light. While it can handle full sun, particularly in cooler UK summers, it often appreciates a little dappled shade during the hottest part of the day to prevent leaf scorch.

Watering

Moderate. Keep the soil consistently moist during the active growing season, but never waterlogged. It enjoys higher humidity than many other palms, so regular misting of the fronds is appreciated if kept in an indoor or conservatory environment. Reduce watering significantly during the winter months.

Soil & Drainage

Requires a rich, free-draining, loam-based potting compost. As with all palms, ensure the container has excellent drainage and is raised on feet to prevent the roots from sitting in stagnant water.
