Portuguese Laurel Ball (Prunus lusitanica)

Sunlight

Full Sun to Partial Shade. It is exceptionally versatile; while it grows well in full sun, it also thrives in dappled or partial shade, making it a perfect solution for north-facing corners or shaded courtyards where a splash of lush evergreen is needed.

Watering

Moderate. As a topiary specimen, it is best kept in a large, well-draining pot or a defined garden spot. Keep the soil consistently moist during the growing season. Because of its density, it should not be allowed to dry out completely, as this can affect the tightness of its foliage.

Soil & Drainage

Thrives in fertile, well-drained soil. If potting, use a high-quality loam-based compost (such as John Innes No. 2 or 3) mixed with horticultural grit to ensure that water drains away freely, preventing root stress.
