Sunlight

Full Sun. This tree needs as much direct sunlight as possible ideally 6–8 hours a day. If kept outdoors during the summer, choose the brightest, most sheltered spot available. If moving indoors for the winter, place it in the sunniest window or a heated greenhouse.

Watering

Moderate. Keep the compost moist but never soggy. During the growing season, water whenever the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. In winter, reduce watering significantly; allow the compost to dry out more between waterings to prevent root rot. Always use tepid (room temperature) water.

Soil & Drainage

Requires a specialized, free-draining citrus compost that is slightly acidic. If you use standard potting soil, mix in plenty of grit or perlite to ensure the roots do not sit in water, which is the most common cause of yellowing leaves.
