Sunlight

Partial to Full Shade. It is one of the best plants for those shadier spots where others might struggle. It can tolerate some morning sun, but its leaves look their healthiest when protected from harsh, direct midday or afternoon sun, which can scorch them

Watering

Moderate. Keep the soil consistently moist during the growing season. Once it is well-established in the ground, it becomes quite reliable, but it will appreciate a good soak during dry, hot spells to keep its broad leaves looking crisp and vibrant.

Soil & Drainage

Thrives in rich, moisture-retentive, well-drained soil. It isn't overly fussy, but it does best if you add a bit of compost or organic matter when planting. If you are keeping it in a container, make sure the drainage is good so the roots don't sit in stagnant water.
