Agave Americana (Variegated Century)

Sunlight

Full Sun. It needs a bright, sun-baked spot to keep its shape tight and the yellow edges vibrant. Too much shade will cause the leaves to stretch and lose their bold color.

Watering

Very Low. Highly drought-tolerant once established. Water lightly during the summer, but make sure the soil completely dries out between drinks. Keep it as dry as possible over winter to prevent rot

Soil & Drainage

Sharply drained soil is absolutely essential. Whether planting in the ground or a container, use a gritty cactus or succulent mix blended with plenty of sand or horticultural grit so water drains straight through.
